From the Word-Hoard: Halcyon


I’m working on a new feature, called “From the Word-Hoard.” What the devil is a word hoard, you ask? Exactly what it sounds like–a store (or hoard, if you will) of words. Because let’s be honest…If this little monster were going to hoard anything, anything at all, it would be words.

From the Word-Hoard will give me a chance to share some of my favorite words with you and, as often as possible, a little bit about their origins. Today we’re starting with halcyon, which is one of my favorites.
